He looked up, discovering a a lone-lit doorway under a canopy that whispered and rocked in the wind. The worn canvas was faded, but the name still legible: Sloane House YMCA.


Few people know the history of the Sloane House YMCA. It has housed thousands, if not millions since it was opened on January 1st of 1930. It was a magnet to young travelers from around the world visiting New York City.
