1950s in Little Italy

Project 27 of 105

In the 1950s, New York City’s Little Italy on Mulberry Street, extended as far south as Canal Street, as far north as Kenmare St, as far west as Lafayette and as far east as Bowery. Along the narrow, cobblestoned streets beneath the fire escapes of turn-of-the-century tenements, one was tempted by the sights, sounds and smells of Italian cuisine and music cultures emanating from the homes and restaurants surrounding you at every step.

Here are a few selected musical tracks you may have heard if you were living during that time period. Enjoy.
